By Car: Take Sheikh Zayed Road (E10) toward Sweihan/Al Ain, following signs for Liwa. Continue on this route until you reach your destination.
By Taxi: You can take a taxi from anywhere in Abu Dhabi directly to Liwa. It’s a well-known destination, so most drivers will know the way.

The desert can get extremely hot during the day and chilly at night. Dress in layers, and pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.
The desert climate can be dehydrating. If you plan on camping or staying the night outside of hotels, or taking part in outdoor activities, make sure to carry plenty of water, as refill stations are limited.
Many attractions in Liwa, including the larger dunes, require a 4WD vehicle. Check your car ahead of your journey to ensure it’s in good condition and consider travelling in a convoy.
For the best experience, consider staying in a desert camp or nearby hotel to unwind from your journey and enjoy the evening desert views.
Liwa is a remote area, with limited amenities available (usually in serviced hotels and resorts only). Come prepared with essentials such as snacks, water, toiletries, and extra batteries.
